Fun Minecraft facts ITT

Sorry if you know these (I'm a bit of a noob lol):

-The world is larger than the surface area of neptune. This is confirmable as you can actually teleport to the co-ordinates at the end of the world (30,000,064) without having to load everything. At this point, you will get stuck and won't be able to do anything. This also means the world is square.

-You can use jukeboxes and other wooden decorations as a fuel.

-If you are in a completely pitch black area and fill it with redstone torches, it will still be dark enough for mobs to spawn

-Paintings don't have physics, meaning that you can walk straight through them if placed over a hole

-Wooden half-blocks can't be set on fire

-Signs and ladders stop water and lava flow.

-Crouching behind blocks will make your name invisible (multiplayer)

-Torches can support the weight of sand and gravel.

-Paintings are not blocks, they are entities much like sheep, players or any mob. Boats, ghast fireballs, and more are entities.

-Glass vertically next to water flowing down makes it harder to swim up. (May have been changed)

-Armor slows you down in water (Vertically) Though this may have changed too.

-Eating has no effect on vertical movement, including jumping, climbing up/down ladders, and swimming.

-You can place a minecart on the other side of a 1 block thick wall, and use it to teleport to the side the minecart is on if you click in the right place (may have been changed).

-Placing a torch, ladder, water, sign, etc underwater will create an air-pocket, torches only temporarily.

-You can make one way doors by having a piece of soul sand outside of a narrow doorway (if the doorway is surrounded by blocks) (doesn't require an actual door)

-If you put an iron door on sideways, and have a powered torch keep it closed, a person can't just throw a redstone torch or pressure plate in front of the door to get it.

-Villagers love doors more than steve loves bacon

-pumpkins can be worn on your head, and block vision. On the plus side, you won't anger endermen by looking at them.

-you can repair tools by crafting two of the same together, it also adds a small % of extra durability. All enchantments will be lost

-creepers are afraid of ocelots. True story

-The best layer to mine for diamonds is eye level 12. That way most lava pools have their top parallel to your feet, and is much less likely for lava to pour onto your head.

Sure, most people know these, but it could help someone who doesn't stalk the wiki like some of us.

This is minecraft. Why would u want 2 deal with uneven terrain? If you don't like the lay of the land, you punch it until it shapes the f*** up. l33t_ninj4_1337

-Torches can support the weight of sand and gravel.

No they can't - gravel and sand which falls onto a torch is destroyed...unless they changed that.

I still have a normal Sand Pyramid, built using Sand and Torches, before Sandstone was introduced.

Can't say if it's just a "that area hasn't been updated" and inevitably broken, but there was a time for sure where you could place sand above a torch to support it.

Torches placed vertically destroy sand and gravel, while torches placed on another block's side just support sand and gravel.
