Is there really that big a difference between ps3 and 360?

The things that I prefer about the xbox 360 over the PS3 mean that 360 version of a game would have to be barely playable for me to not get that version.

But then that's just me.


I'm in the exact same boat as you. Superior community. Better online. Better controller(i have stick for fighters)

what he said, the only real difference i've heard about might be that the xbox version doesn't like to do the gory kills as much. it could just be that the british girl from ign sucks with the xbox controller though.

It's not even them things that set it apart for me.

An abbreviated list would be:

Inside Xbox videos (and just a better sense of a relationship with the people in charge)
Superior downloads (no need to do a seperate install of games and demos which can't be done in the background)
Patches seem to take a lot less time
XBLA has way more stuff than PSN
Dashboard has a better layout to the XMB
Party chat and Private chat between different games (omg)
MSN Messenger integration
Achievements are superior to Trophies in every way, especially their online integration into websites like TrueAchievements and the like. Sony does not allow this outside of their own site for some reason.

Better controller I do agree with though. Can't comment on the community or online for PS3 really because I only have like two online games for it and have barely played either of them...

That said, I do think the PS3 has a few minor things that are done better than the 360. And I'm no fanboy either, I have no allegiance either way, I've made my decision on what I believe to be the superior console based on my perception of the facts before me.

Let's just say, it's telling that my PS3 has had a busted disc drive for nearly two years and I haven't even bothered to get it fixed.
