simonsteelePosted 8/2/2012 12:09:26 AM | I love trolling invaders in the cathedral area on new game plus. I remember wandering through there as a human, in some pretty elite gear and some invader shows up. He comes running around and a corner and sees me standing there with my black night axe on my shoulder and he just disconnects and disappears. I laughed for months. --- Check out my new zombie novel, "Archetype"! www.simonleecropp.com |
HoustonBoy98Posted 8/2/2012 12:40:44 AM | funny thing is
i AM helping him
people are so soft nowadays
the moment you're harsh on someone you're a "douchebag"
i dont tell him everything because figuring stuff out on your own is far superior to having someone else tell you about it
call me an ass, douche, etc etc etc. i really couldnt care less. just know that my help will always be far superior to you coddling the guy --- No one will ever change this animal I have become XBL - Stillnacht |

there is no op equipment in this game
dont blame the game
why cant you help him instead of being mean?
but to answer your question tc yes people who invade you are going to have better equipment better magic and miracle and more experience. to invade people as a darkmoon (who are blue) you have to at least get to anor londo which is kind of far in the game. to be a darwraith (who are red) you have to beat anor londo.
so most people who invade you know what there doing and will probably win based on that your new to the game.
good luck and have fun. BE RESPONSIBLE

EdgeofLethePosted 8/2/2012 12:54:52 AM | I went most of my first play though without being invaded (luck? bad connection?). In NG+ and my new character, though, I've been invaded pretty frequently. I think it's a fun aspect of the game.
So, stick with it. Sure, some invaders are going to outright dominate you...but by the time you get some decent gear and have been playing a bit more, you'll relish the chance to send an invader home. --- It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it - Aristotle |
moodyjm2Posted 8/2/2012 2:13:20 AM (edited) | Just roll with it.
It's trial by fire. You are weak now, losing to a stronger invader. Eventually you will become strong enough to beat the likes of him and others. And the cycle continues - survival of the fittest.
And Houstonboy is right - the whole point of Dark Souls is overcoming odds and figuring things out on your own, so grow some thicker skin.

AlethirPosted 8/2/2012 4:56:49 AM | I was the same when I started my game a week or 2 ago TC. Most, if not all, of the PvP invaders I got up until I reached Anor Londo were ridiculously one sided in their favor. Unfortunately this is one of those games where people can get great equipment and spells for their twink characters then sit and troll new players until they feel like awesome bad asses with giant e-junk.
Eventually though you get to join a covenant (Darkmoon Blades) that allow you to invade down in level and only invade people who are guilty (by being indicted by other players for pvping them or something) and you can go back to the low areas and invade the twinks who sit about invading lowbies and get your sweet revenge. Hunt them trolls until you get used to how pvp works and become a glorious troll hunter!
PvP is much better once you reach Anor Londo and get some better equipment and start having fair fights. I still suck at it but I'm at least finding some enjoyment in it now and I can actually beat people unless I make a stupid mistake.
TL:DR don't let the first experiences you get of PvP put you off, it gets fairer and more enjoyable once you get further. |
Dtothe3Posted 8/2/2012 5:38:59 AM | Try to think of it as fun rather then competitive. I've been playing this with two mates (alternating) round 1 Xbox, and the cheer I got for my first victory made me feel epic.
(Great Heavy Soul Arrow to the face on a glowing red chick ftw).
If something doesn't work, go find something else to do for a while. Turn human and use co-op, lay down a sign and help a brother or sister in need. Go farm items or the souls to buy them. Or hit me up and ill more then happily help you deliver some pain. Or die trying.
Most likely that second one. --- I used to be capable of having children. Then I took an arrow in the knee... Xbox tag - Dtothe3 |
