i hate ash lake so much, its creepy, the clams take forever to kill, and i hate the hydra

I hope you have the Lordvessel, otherwise getting out is gonna be a pain. Anyone else wonder what that giant skull in the middle of the place could have been? Looks super creepy.

i dont, i eventually got out just by sprinting, but im not going back to give the dragon these scales until i get that

I'd recommend getting an upgraded bow and a ton of cheap arrows, and just killing the Hydra behind a sand barge. Makes the whole affair much easier.

Really?

I think tackling the Hydra in a melee manner is much easier. You're too close for it to do anything other than miss you with all of its heads and then you get free hits while it's pulling itself out of the sand. The only issue with the Ash Lake Hydra is when there are only two heads left...

yeah but that place really unnerves me so long range combat is more comfortable

I can honestly say that the Hydra never caused me much trouble, either one of them after I learned how to fight them. They're one of the easiest mini-bosses, especially with a decent shield. But, yeah the vibe is kinda creepy down there. I'd imagine the giant skull to be from a long dead type of dragon maybe?
