DLC contains "match-making feature for co-op"?

Looking at the description of the "Artorias of the Abyss" DLC on XBL, it says the DLC gives "an online match-making feature for co-op gameplay". I've searched around, and I can't find any details about how this works.

What, if anything, does the DLC do to improve or augment co-op match-making? Will it make it easier to play through the whole game with a friend?

You don't really need to search anything as the arena has been dead pretty much since the DLC came out. You have to plan for it with some buddies.
