I think they just meant that you don't get to kill him, not that he is literally immortal.

I knew what he meant. I also knew that Dist doesn't die in the game.

I just didn't want to leave such a glaring misunderstanding alone like that.

I apologize, I should've stated that my sentence "Dist is immortal" was supposed to be seen as a joke. The game kind of says it, too, stating that Dist is as "tenacious as a cockroach" and very hard to kill.
