What's the general opinion of ember spirit?

I had fun as him in a bot game and did great. His play style seems pretty fun but I want to know more about him before playing him in norms (I'm still very low level)

He's a pretty weak hero IMO but I haven't even played him myself.

If you're playing low level games then really it shouldn't matter tbh.

Needs farm. At least it's not a Sniper it can contribute.

snowball or die

I have realized this in the bot games I've played as him lol. Any tips to help me snowball as him (mostly lane tips would be appreciated)

If you max SoF first or buy battlefury guess what you're bad at Ember
My opinion is objective fact. If you disagree, well, you're wrong.

i carried most of my ember games in a-z. he is great chaser that needs fast levels and decent farm so he needs mid. he can semicarry but he is ganker imo. in mid he is mediocre. squishy, heavy mana problems - bottle is a must. in order to be viable ganker you must snowball. is squishy ns with mana problems imo

Yeah, and the cleaves did not at all help me get the rampage in that game.

I'm so tired of ember being underestimated because people can't play him. Is he a hard hero to use? yeah Can others gank in early and mid better? sure.

But it doesn;t change his strengths. Hes very mobile, can use remnants for short time situational warding, and instantaneous escapes if the player was smart enough to set any up prior, and still a good escape if not. chases like storm spirit but with a set mana cost instead of half the damn bar if you upped your pool.

TL:DR He can chase/escape. He can root, block magic damage, pocket radiance, and even has an invincibility frame

At late game even he can drop a large amount of dmg and UAM on multiple players of the team at once, and no other hero can do that.

Hes a ganking semi carry, and if played as such can be very effective, and not just by snowballing.

If interested you can go through my ember games, hes solid.

Garbage hero that makes me cry when he's on my team....

It's like 4 vs 5.

He CAN be strong against some squishy lineups. But it's VERY situational.

Don't listen to Baked. he comes up with an opinion and cannot fathom that his opinion is not the be all end all right thing.

Anyway, Ember needs to snowball as people have said. Mid with some regen to start and build to a fast bottle. Max flameguard first, then your bolas. Situationally pick up a point in SoF at 4 if you need the harass it provides. Otherwise dont touch it until 10. I feel Drums -> Deso is the right build and a Battlefury after that is a decent pick up as it will solve many of his problems. If you are snowballing like crazy, the triple battlefury build can be hilarious
