This would actually be a pretty neat buff. When you're getting ganked and know you're going to die for sure (no allies near by and multiple enemies) it would be really useful to have the ultimate off and not let it get wasted. Then you have have it ready if you do a team fight after you respawn.
WK is too hard to play now. The effort required to click R is too much, too far away from the Q key, requires you to step your game up completely and use more hot keys. It's hard enough toggling armlet and using abyssal and any more active items is stretching it, having to press one more key makes this hero way to high skill cap.

If it isn't active when you die, it still goes on CD, but for half the CD duration. If it is active when you die, it goes on full CD, but you obviously revive.
The logic to this is that you can now decide whether to revive or not so as to either come back in the midst of a team fight to help out, or just stay dead to avoid giving the enemy another kill/gold.
The enemy doesn't get exp gold twice for killing a reviving WK....
I think what this post may have been meaning is if you're not going to revive during a team fight, your team will back. Currently, since it is always going to happen they'll use it as a safety and try to help you continue fighting, even if once you revive you're basically just going to eat it again, then they're going to get f***ed too...thus giving the enemy another kill/gold.
So basically, if your ult is going to be useless, you'd just take the non-revived death and everyone else would back...saving your ult from being on CD and avoiding any confusion for your team.
Though the instances where that would happen are usually only when WK gets caught off alone vs the midst of a teamfight. So I guess it'd be limited unless you get something back for not using it...maybe when you die and have it off, your respawn time is cut in half?
