Generic anime fighter? *cough*

Oh my god im choking on the cheesiness of this game

Don't get me wrong, i love anime, and fighting games (ie: blazblue) but this game, from the trailers and such that i've seen of it, looks like a bit of a half-assed fighter, and looks to have to many similar looking female characters (pretty sure i've seen about 5 who wear a slightly sifferent colored dress)

I'll try this when it comes out, but right now, its not looking too good

Half-assed, simplistic is more like it, and I've already heard enough that it would look like a psuedo-sequel to Asuka 120%, besides, its pretty much your typical average anime fighter here and there.

Also, lol at username, no relation or pun to title. Besides, there is a demo to try out, but it requires using a JP Hotmail/Live account to Download it from the JP marketplace.

Yeah the game does NOT sell itself well as it looks pretty awful and the character designs are insanely bland. It's the first game from a very small group though so that helps explain a lot.

However the gameplay has me really hyped. It's all built around really simplistic inputs. No quarter circles at all, just direction+special like Smash Bros. Also pressing any attack button 3 times results in a 3-hit combo chain.

But despite the simplistic inputs it still has depth with two different fighting styles per character ("Quick" and "Hard" akin to the styles seen in Last Blade). It has parries, a universal counter button (like Last Blade again), Asuka 120%'s wanton clashing, super modes that are different depending on your chosen style, and bursts/combo breakers that actually do a good job of rendering infinites useless (I've watched some match videos and seen about 3 infinites, all of them were useless thanks to damage scaling+quick meter recharge+combo breaker). I am legitimately excited about the game now.

Can I get a link to those videos, please?

Anyway, yeah, the marketing of this game is pretty horrible (and somewhat nonexistent). While the game does look slow and such, sometimes it can be hard to keep up due to the amount of crazy stuff happening at once. More over than anything, I'll just play it as a party fighter, like Smash Bros. or an Ultimate Ninja game. It was made simple, and it's meant to be simple.

Edit: Isn't this 5pb's first real game, anyway? I know they make visual novels.

Just look them up, not hard to find match vids of PB, anyway, I wouldn't call it 5pb's first "real" game since they also do VN's mostly (pretty much their "real" titles there) and made their first shoot-em-up (Bullet Soul).

And anyways, this is also 5pb's first localization in the US.

It's developed by Delta Factory, a team made up of ex-Fill In Cafe staff (who made the Asuka 120% series). 5pb is just the publisher, and I'm pretty sure Bullet Soul is the only game they ever developed themselves.

Nope, that was Corpse Party. Steins;Gate is allegedly coming to Steam, and the president of Nitro+ really wants to give Saya no Uta an official English release (probably through JAST, though I'm unaware of Gabe Newell's stance on guro loli porn).

This game is mediocre at best mind you and this is coming from someone who got the LE Jp ver and bothered getting 1000/1000 gamerscore, though to be fair the gs part is moot since getting the points is easy and takes 3 to 5 days or so..
Also, it barely sold in Japan so I wonder why people actually bothered localising it..

Darn it Tuttle, I though it was :P, oh well, and I don't find it at all generic, pretty much a simple fighter with a simple story, that's all, and BTW, 1000(G) in one day if you know what you're doing...
