Score means nothing and using it as a metric for how helpful you were weakens your argument. All that higher score means is that you constantly took off the last chip of life with a really huge shot, and therefore wasted a lot of excess damage finnishign things off.
Actually, it's not a weak argument at all. Sure, score is not the core-contributing factor for teamwork in general but in my case, it actually proves that using the Valiant can potentially deal more damage (better DPS) and enemies die faster within a certain time period, than using the Black Widow.
So, logically, if I kill a common enemy within two seconds (two headshots) and kill more enemies in total, my actions will be likely to reduce the chances of my teammates dying and a wave ends quicker. Therefore, I didn't waste "a lot of excess damage" at all. Seriously, what kind of argument is this?
If you did worse with the BW, it is solely because you are not good enough to compensate for the recoil when holding down the trigger for the three round burst.
I don't think you know what are you talking about. It's ridiculous if you're implying that I should be able to shoot three bullets with the Black Widow at the EXACT same speed of shooting three bullets with the Valiant. Sorry, but that's impossible. Need I to remind you that, with the Black Widow, after when you shoot a bullet, your aiming will go off due to the Black Widow's recoil and therefore you will lose about a half second (sometimes one second + due to an enemy moving) - thus that enemy will die slower.
Whereas it's almost instantaneous with the Valiant - because with it, your aiming literally never goes off after shooting a bullet - thus not losing any precious time and THUS the enemy that you're shooting at will die faster, than the Black Widow.
A stabilization mod will get you over the hump on this.
Don't even need that for the Valiant, all more better reasons why Valiant is the better sniper rifle.
Don't get me wrong, the Valiant is a strong weapon, but the extra BW will let you two shot most trash without even needing to head shot things on gold.
Your argument can be applied the same to any good single-fire sniper rifle. Widow X, for example. If you're not good at aiming at heads, you're well better off with Widow X. Just ED and shoot, easy as pie.
The point is about how faster and more reliable the Valiant are - that if you can aim and shoot at the head of an enemy consistently, you'll be more effective with the Valiant than with the Black Widow - especially on any infiltrator. All of your Valiant bullets will be effected by the cloak's damage bonus if you're quick enough too. You cannot do that with the Black Widow.
It's not that hard to aim at a head. Most of the time, enemies stay still for a few seconds and the fact that the Valiant almost have no recoil, it makes things a lot easier for making headshots. Creating headshots on Gold is actually more effective than bodyshotting because of the headshot bonus. Headshots create faster enemies deaths and therefore increase the chances of an easy game.
Meanwhile, the Valiant requires AP mod and near constant head shots or it requires three shots to down things with shields, minimum.
Have you ever considered that the Black Widow is usually equipped with a capability mod because the BW's base ammo is so low? Even if you don't use the capability mod, you have to run to your ammo box more often. Not good because while running to the box, you're even losing more precious time of not creating any damage to any enemy. The Valiant doesn't need to be equipped with the capability mod because it already have a good base ammo (33).
I don't even have a Black Widow...
I'd go as far as to say that the Valiant is a Viper with half the ammo and twice the damage... MUCH better. Similar (very low) recoil, good firing rate...
I think the Viper needs some buffs. So does the incisor. It's silly how badly outclassed about half of the snipers in this game are by other snipers.

I completely respect your opinion. The only thing I would point out is why NOT be going for headshots? Seems kind of silly not to do so. Sniper rifles are precision weapons. Sure, you CAN use them however you want, but if you're just going to use it as a horribly bad spray and pray weapon, there are plenty of other guns that will work much better.
And, considering the extra bonuses with headshot damage and cloaking headshot damage, the centurions that you're two shotting on silver with a BW, I'll one shot to the head with a mantis x.
The point is that the argument of not needing to headshot when using a sniper rifle, while technically true, it defeats the purpose of using a sniper rifle to begin with. In my opinion.
Might as well use a Saber without a scope if all you care about is body shots.
