Thieves Guild or Dark Brotherhood... Best armor? (and other Qs)

#1GrimeyvillePosted 12/6/2011 9:32:02 AM
So I'm about Level 22 right now, got 40s and 50s in sneaking, lockpicking, one-armed combat, and destruction magic and I want to get an idea of whether the Nightingale armor I have now is better than the possible Dark Brotherhood armor I could get. I have not started the DB quest line yet and just inquiring. I finished the Thieves Guild quest line but still have all those jobs lined up.

So for the long story short.

1. Better armor to get, Nightingale/Guildmaster Thief Armor or anything Dark Brotherhood offers?

2. Is my character where he should be right now for a Level 22? high 30s to and 50 in Sneaking, Lockpicking, One-Armed Combat, Destruction Magic. Or should I just restart.

Nightingale armor is better yes. At least than the starting gear you get from the DB. And by the 20s I'd say you're doing alright skill level wise. I'm in the 40s and most of my skills are in the 70s and 80s (the ones I use that is).

Be aware that Nightingale Armor is leveled. As is the bow and sword.

What if I sell it and get a new set from the Nightingale Hideout?

Will that be leveled to my current stats?

I don't think that's true. All armor has set armor values and increase based on your proficiency in that armor class.

if you sell it, it's gone.

Also, as you might expect the Thieves' Guild suit & DB suits are better for different aspects of being a thief.

There is more sneak/avoidance focus on TG set, more combat/confrontation on the DB set.

They are both good for a sneak/thief, but will likely fall in line with whatever character you feel like playing. If your character is going to do both TG & DB story lines, you'll probably just want to stick with the suit given to you in order to accomplish that quest line.....

makes sense doesn't it?

hopefully, my blunt-ness doesn't come off as high&mighty douchebag-ness.... if so, sorry about that, i'm just direct

I don't think the Armor Values is what scales, but rather the enchantment. Nigthengale stuff DOES scale, as do a few other weapons and armor. DB armor, does not scale.
