TC is somewhat harsh, but still, I absolutely agree with him. It is a rated mature game anyways; meaning, it is presumed the player who is playing it has a fully developed brain.

the combat was immediately funner but devolved into block attack attack block attack attack ad nausea


I have never understood this mindset. What do you want? Attack, block, dance, and attack again. Or does attack block and strip make you feel better? What do you actually want from the combat?

I think they should include critical attacks like how it's set up in Demon's souls.
up side down, in a corner, inside of a building, positioned diagonally from everything.
