So I don't see how there can really be any clues in Oblivion that point to what will happen in this game.

I havn't heard from an official source, but I assumed 5-10 years.

Long enough that we don't here more about Deadra worship becoming more prevalent in the Summerset Isles, but not so long that it fels like we misse a bunch of events.
