durban11Posted 1/14/2011 6:39:19 AM | I remember grinding some skills- I would watch tv in the meantime holing the 360 controller and keep casting things like summon scamp or healing spells or illusion spells.
I think they should just let you put points into the skills you want to level (like FO3) rather than keeping the system from oblivion. |
AstoperPosted 1/14/2011 6:50:11 AM | oh yeah, I was making sheets...I hope they will change it in Skyrim |
ZarnonElchrisPosted 1/14/2011 6:53:50 AM | No. This is the Elder Scrolls way of doing it, so it should stay. They can tweak it for improvement, but the overall style should remain unchanged. |
RavensRules69Posted 1/14/2011 7:01:18 AM | Absolutely not. This is the way it's always been, plus it makes sense, if you want to get better at something, practice.

ronnetPosted 1/14/2011 7:01:40 AM | The system should stay. But it should be optimized. The fact that some skills have you hold the trigger the entire day while doing other stuff to level it shows that the skill is not useful enough. Spells underneed such a skill should be brought under a different skill to make that other skill more useful and therefore easier to level up. This actually has been done, that si the reason why there are less skills in Skyrim. They ahvent removed any spells or combat moves but theyve brought them together under less skills so now when you pick a skill there are more useful things to do with it. |
daveliciousPosted 1/14/2011 7:02:47 AM | Not really...
I prefer Oblivion's leveling system to Fallout 3's (at least in terms of how to level up your skills) --- PSN: Davelicious GT: Davelicious46 NEW SETUP: http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee174/Davelicious406/DSC02294.jpg |
tenderIoinPosted 1/14/2011 7:13:50 AM | Watch the recent Todd Howard interview. He talks a bit about how he loves that in TES, things level AS YOU USE THEM, rather than say, gaining experience points for killing people with your sword, and being able to translate that into raising your lockpicking skill. The system is a huge part of the series, and should never, and likely will never change to an experience point system again --- http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee122/JaivaSKA/streetlight6gd.jpg |

where is the video you have been waching?/ |
roosterdipPosted 1/14/2011 7:20:27 AM | there is nothing worse then gaining xp that can be assigned to anything. I like the system[s] they have used previously and you don't have to sit and press that button 6000 times in a row. you can progress those skills slowly throughout the gameplay. i don't want it to be easy to level yourself or max anything out. I'd rather grind it out. --- T-bagging is an art form like finger painting. It is only done by those under 7 or with an IQ under 65 |
