Which does more damage: 2-Hand or Dual Wield?

I need to know this before I start playing, I don't want to put points into one if it turns out the other is better late-game. Anyone know or have any good guesses?

something to add to this, can 2 handers block?

It would depend on the weapons you're using I guess.
I did hear someone say that Dual Wielding with 1handed max is really OP'd though...

probably dual wield. its pure offense while 2H provides the ability to block as well. damage isnt everything though. take a look at the perks and see what interests you. dual wielding is pure offense. you have no way to stop incoming damage
Slaughter is the best medicine.

2 Handers can block.

For pure DPS, dual-wielding with the right perks and equipment most likely does the most damage.

Dual wield = 200% damage, 0% block.
Two-handed = 150% damage, 50% block.
Sword 'n' Board = 100% damage, 100% block.

Dual Wielding = Attack
2 handed = Blend between attack and defense
Shield and Sword = Defensive

If both weapons are enchanted with per hit magic, dual weapons should do more damage than a two-handed weapon.

The greatsword(2H) executions are awesome looking too. I love the one where you just impale your enemy on your sword, lifting them off the ground.
