Can't sell necklaces/robes/gems?

Am I missing something here? I'm approaching level 6, I'm sitting on just over 2600 gold from looting, I haven't sold a single item because the items that appear in the selling menu are the ones I'm actually using.

I have some jewels at a value of 100 each I don't want, I have a novice robe I don't want amongst a few other things.

I'm talking to the NPC I'm selecting my character name from the left hand side and it doesn't list the items that I would like to sell.

If you try to sell them to a blacksmith or weapons shop they won't take them.
Try selling them at a general goods store.
That's where i pawn all my jewels, potions etc.

you need to go to other merchants. certain ones only buy certain things. weaponsmiths only buy armor and weapons, mage salesmen only buy certain things based around magic and such. There is a perk to make all merchants buy all things though.

The NPC's will only buy from you in the categories that they sell. General goods store is what you want for that stuff.

Also if you sell items to the shop keeper that specialises in them you will get a better price.

It's worth going round all the shops in a town as it makes a huge difference.
