Weapon level scaling

Hi there,

Trying to find a decent one-handed weapon for my thief, and I've come across various posts that mention the Mace of Molag Bal as a pretty good mace, which is good because I like maces.

However, I have heard that this weapon scales with your level when you find it. So for example, if you find it at level 10 it will do x damage, and if you find it at level 15 it will do x+y damage.

I would like to know if anyone has any confirmation of this, as it would pretty much annoy the crap out of me if I got this mace early on and weakened it as a result.

Also, I believe in Oblivion you could sell items to vendors and then buy them back, and it would level the weapon up to your current level.. maybe I'm remembering it wrong. If the weapons in Skyrim do scale, is it possible to use this trick to level them up?

Cheers,
Yosh

In exactly the way I described? Any way to make them level up?

Additionally, if that's true about those weapons and only those weapons, what's the best bow in the game that doesn't scale?

If you get them at a low level can't you just upgrade them at a blacksmiths? Does that work?

The strength of the enchantments on them is based on what level you are when you get it.

But dont know what level is needed for the best version

Damn, I was thinking about the stats, not the enchantment on them. Herp, go me.

Yes you can upgrade them via BS or Enchantment. But why bother? Not to mention that m astering both skills will take days.

I have found a wiki page that details the items:

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Leveled_Items

However as you say, it does not mention the levels required to gain the maximum stats for each item.

This was very helpful, anyway - thanks!
