For those who have it: is the Ranger perk worth it in Archery?

I have the perk... I guess I should have said that...

Its very useful, I have it. But it requires 70 skill to get, and at that point your archery is very strong and should be able to take most enemies out in 2-3the hits while sneaking. But in open combat it makes kiting a breeze, just run backwards melee wont be able to touch you.

I think it's worth it, although i mainly focus on archery, so i'll admit it's a biased opinion.

If you only use the bow for stealth and draw a melee weapon once enemies find you, then I'd question how much you really need it.
If you primarily use a bow in combat, then it's well worth it.

This.

i rather enjoy the perk for several reasons;

giants; mammoths;anything that i can't sneak attack.

as others have stated, the kiting is a lot easier.

while in caves and other tight quarters, it saves me a bit of effort as i tend to try and "guess" where the next enemy is going to be. Draw arrow, go around corner, enable the zoom slow down, look for anything to shoot and blast.... or sheath the arrow if nothing in eye sight..

usually to step on a trap but , at least i knew some kind of danger was around the corner.

but yea, as the above posters have said, its good for some, not all. test and try!
