Topic, and this is in regards spesifically to the specialisation perks like Skull crusher, limpsplitter and deep wounds.
To me there all pretty meh but my OCD dictates I pick one for RP purposes. so which seat do it take?
Greatswords and deep wounds apparently arn't as strong as appears with the 20% max dmg of the un-upgraded/perked weapon.
Skullcrusher and warhammers with the 75% max armour negating sounds pretty good but apart from bandits, and there crappy iron and steal and maybe the thalmor and there elven, who wears good armour? i've never seen anyone where draven or dragon so idk.
battle axes and limbsplitter with the bleeding DMG does sound pretty meh, like fire dmg its not that great but handy. But I got to thinking B'axes take time to swing and the bleeding dmg can cause consant dmg inbetween attacks.
IDK guys, i'm conflicted. I'm sort of leaning for axes but I would appriciate some hints or arguments on what is best suited for a orc berserker.
Ps. sorry in advance for any bad grammar :s
The 75% armour penetration is the best out of the lot, just because something isnt wearing armour doesn't mean they dont have an armour rating ;), War-hammers are the slowest, but if you pick up the war-hammer Volendrug (The Daedric artifact) not only does it swing as fast as a Great sword but it has Stamina steal so you can keep power attacking :D

Well, as far as perks go, I was watching my buddy play a while back and he had maxed all the perks for all three weapon types in the one handed tree and it seemed the one for maces did the best. The sword criticals and the bleeding damage didn't really seem to do much, while the armor negation really made the health bar on armored enemies drop in much bigger chunks. He was dropping things in about half the hits with his mace compared to other weapons.

well, great axes apparently have the same attack speed as greatswords, while doing more damage.
hammer probably have the best perk, and if the incredibly slow speed bothers you, the longhammer is a unique hammer that attacks about as fast as a 1h mace(much faster than a greatsword/axe)
so, either of those. no reason to go sword though.

It doesn't really matter. All of the weapon specific perks, including the mace one, are terrible. The mace one sounds good, but keep in mind that NPCs do not get smithed armor, perks, or other bonuses to their armor rating. This means that the reality is, most NPCs have really low armor ratings (the maximum you can reach without all the PC bonuses is 20% reduction and I have never seen an NPC using full Daedric with a shield, which would be required to reach that). Probably 95% of the NPCs that are wearing armor don't even reach 5% reduction. PCs get a colossal advantage when it comes to how protective armor is, so I think people overestimate just how good it actually is for them. The reason those armored NPCs seem tougher is because they have higher health. They aren't taking all that much less damage.
All weapon-specific perks suck, but battleaxes make you look like a badass Viking. So I use battleaxes.
idk but i sure as hell am having fun with my daedric battle axe orc build with two-handed currently at lvl 67 and heavy armor. the decapitation perk never gets old and when you add berserk plus elemental fury i dont think it matters which two0handed you use...they are all beasts!
i am planning on trying to take all the two handed perks with this build so i can do some weapon comparisons later but right now i just have axes perked and still need one more to get 3/3 bleeding.

Mmmhhmm. That is what I suspected. :s I might just go axes for the constant dmg.
