| Personally, I gave up trying to decorate my house trinkets after I actually spent a few hours trying to get helga's statue of dibella to stay still. (along with a few other ex-quest items)
After discovering the Blade of Woe hovering in my bedroom doorway in Hjerim on several occasions and trying to display it elsewhere, I just tossed it in my chest along with the ebony blade and keening.
I honestly don't understand why we have certain items that look so unique and would obviously be deemed worthy of display, only to have them be the ones that either aren't capable of being placed in a display, never remain in-place, or have them gradually moving through other surfaces/walls until they are forever lost. --- Common sense seems to be more uncommon. | Thank you! I love customizing houses and now that I know it I'll enjoy a lot more.
Another useful idea (maybe it's already over here but I didn't find) is that if you sneak while placing items, the items will move more slowly and softer.
Toggling sneak is good to place the items on a shelf or table too (this way you can avoid their rotation while placing them down).
My english isn't very good, I hope it's understandable and a bit useful :D |
| A note about Volendrung:
If you put it on a weapon rack in Lakeview Manor and leave the house and return later, it will not fall off right away. Instead, it will begin sinking lower and lower on the rack (I found it halfway through the floor once). If you don't come back for a long time, though, it will eventually fall off. |
| Bummer, I wish I'd read this post before I'd decorated my house. I lost several items to the ether, never to be seen again.
Sure hope they aren't needed in any future DLC >_> |

| masterpug53 posted...Haelga's Dibella Statue is a trouble item - it will always move or fall off a shelf whenever you re-enter the cell. Best not to even mess with it.
The Golden Claw might also be a trouble item - in most cases items that behave this way are ones that pass from your inventory into someone else's before being put back into the material world (i.e. you find it, give to Lucan Valerius, and then he puts it on display on his counter). I placed it in the upper bedroom. Next time I returned home it was downstairs, so I didnt bother with it. Next time after that, it was gone. Im assuming its somewhere under the house. |
