Cook pasta according to instructions, shortening time by two minutes.
In a seperate pan fry onion, mushroom and carrot, all grated or all roughly chopped. Make a hollow in it, tip in a tablespoon of tomato puree, and fry it before mixing it into the veg.
Add 500 grams of mince, fry and drain. Add a tin of chopped toms and heat through. When both are done, mix in a baking tray, cover with cheese sauce (homemade or shop bought), coat with cheese and cook at 200c for 15 to 20 minutes.
With 5 pints of westons and a few lorry style ciggies (we know what I'm talking about, the kids don't know but we do ~ Quagmire), you can have an all day session, only stopping to eat, drink or roll one.
Doesn't happen often anymore, so I have to make the most of it when the opportunity comes up.
Edit - No clean way to eat? Have you not tried a knife and fork?
