A pet armored troll would be awesome indeed! I though about bringing the Dawnguard Husky dog home, but after spending some time with it I got really tired of the constant barking. Anybody know if the other dogs bark less?

Hellhounds no barkie

You can have one of the hellhounds as a pet? Is this true?

Apparently not. Instead of the child asking to keep it, they say how scary it is.

The guy who did this only had girls though, I don't know if boys would have a different reaction.

prolly scare the kids though...damn kids...

Probably so. I can totally imagine Blaise and Runa reacting the same way they do when a dragon attacks. Running around screaming "No! Get away from me! Leave me alone!"
Meanwhile Daddy is running after them yelling "No, kids, it's just your new pet troll, I promise he won't hurt you!"

It would be soooooo freaking badass if we could adopt the Death Hounds! I didn't even realize they could be your followers, but some of the posts I've read sure make it seem like you can. I'll have to try that with my kids tonight.

<<Both of the kids have also asked me for an allowance, and Blaise's response the first time I gave him 1,000 septims was pretty funny! It was something along the lines of "Wow, really? Seriously? You're not kidding? I could buy the entire market with that much! Thanks! Thank you so much!" >>

That was another thing I was curious about. I read that you could give your children an allowance, but I suppose that is another child-initiated dialog, which of course I just can't seem to trigger in my game. Maybe I am a horrible adoptive parent...I only gave them legendary ebony daggers, tons of sweets, wooden swords, new dresses, play games with them outside, you know. All the things us horrible adoptive skyrim parents would do. ;)

That's outrageous! How dare you be such an awful adoptive parent?! Don't you know you're supposed to lock your kids in the cellar, never speak to them, and only give them poison and horker meat for sustenance?! I ought to report you to the Skyrim Child Protective Services agency. Ugh, parents these days. I swear. ;)

Seriously though, it sucks that you haven't gotten to see that interaction either. Yep, it is another child-initiated dialog. There are several allowance amount options, ranging from 5 to 1,000 septims with 4 or 5 steps in between IIRC. I wish I knew what triggered it for me. I'll report back if I figure anything out along those lines.
