Huh, I've actually never thought about it.

But I suppose it'd go wherever dragon souls go while they're not being reincarnated. Assuming it's not absorbed. As far as I know, the Dragonborn's soul is no different than the ones you're absorbing.

Did you read that article? Within it explains that "Dragon-born" as written means "born under the sign of the Dragon," i.e. born in an Imperial province.
