Yeah, but there's no chest there :/
Do I need the map first? I couldn't find that either

I didn't get the map until I opened the chest, might have to reload from a save point somewhere, I've had to do it about 3 times so far because I can't pick stuff up that I need to.

If you've found and read the book called deathbrand, it updates in the misc. quests section, And locates the pirate camp on your map. I had zero troubles finding all the pieces and had no problem getting the map in the first place

I have read it multiple times, and even have it in my inventory...

I'd say reload then, I just had to because I couldn't pick up the damn sword to get out of a room.
