I'm curious how many people go the extra mile while coming up with a character name and how many don't bother.

never crossed my mind. The only reason to add last name is to make them cooler. Like Ookami Kurayami

All of my characters are my name with a Roman numeral...

e.g. John I, John II, John III.... I'm up to John XXVII..

First name only, they are basically a rogue who are trying to escape.

It's hard enough to come up with a first name, now I have to give 'em a last name too?

Oh, I can already feel my brain explode from the exertion.

Mine didn't have a real name, i called him Magic Elf of Awesomeness, becuase he's a high elf and i focused on magic. But now it's more like sneaky elf of awesomeness since he's pretty good at sneaking too.

I rarely give them a last name. Depends on the character I'm going for.

Like if I'm just a warrior, it's first name only and even then its short.

Assassin: First name only, they have no families.

Thief: Dependds on if I'm a dashing rogue or just gutter trash. In the former's case, they get a last name. In the latter, just a nickname.

Mage: Since they are usually educated and from well-off families, they get the whole nine.
