Why are mods so popular amongst the PC crowd?

Bad voice acting is the main reason I hated Moonpath to Elsweyr. That and the fact that it wasn't nearly as good as people made it out to be.

It was very pretty, though.

Never played Moonpath, despite subscribing to it. Was going to use it as an example of low-quality pseudo-DLC, but wasn't sure if it would be apt.

I know what overall quality is and shoehorning people like you are doesn't work.

Tell me. Do you think that a mod that's coded poorly, features poor voice acting, completely destroys the balance of the game and contradicts the game's lore is a good-quality mod?

Bad voice acting can be entertaining. Also M.L.P. sucks!

English STALKER always comes to my mind when I hear poor VA. Youre right.

Such a good series with the worst VA I have ever heard.

Coded and or voiced poorly no, its not a good mod. The others don't matter, that's why theyre optional. There are things in the vanilla game that can destroy the balance of it as well as poorly coded that some mods fix. Look at all of the unofficial patches.

Chrysamere was an example of a poor quality/low standard mod that you linked and fits the lore and is fairly powerful I guess, didn't actually look at all the stats just saw that the damage was 1 point higher than a daedric hammer, but its also a legendary artifact of the game. If anything it fits better than most of the other artifacts.

As Ive said before, some people will an do use both "types" of those mods so where would they be placed? Low standard? High standard? What about the console players that have used some of them?

I actually played Chrysamere. The quest involved with it had absolutely nothing to do with Skyrim. It wasn't cleverly-placed, it wasn't given a decent reason for being there, and the quest involved in getting it was as simple as walking into a cave and killing a dragon. It was simply a nonsensical reason to throw another OP weapon into the game.

That aside, if you're having that much difficulty comprehending who goes where, then please, just drop it. I'm sick of seeing you trying to puzzle it out, when you clearly lack the means to do so. I'm not explaining it again, and it's clear that you're not figuring out what I meant, so just drop it.

So Ill just chalk it up as you making a terrible theory and trying to cram people into it when there is more to it than the type of mod they use or system they play on.

Call it whatever you want. I'm calling it you not being able to comprehend a simple concept and flipping the power switch on the pain receptors in your butt.

Mods are popular because Bethesda released a broken game and heavily skimped on the content. It's got the framework of a good game though. They made the toolkit so that other people could fix the game for them so that they don't need to do anything.

so by that logic, morrowind, oblivion, fallout 3, and new vegas are also broken games?

Morrowind and Oblivion are pretty goddamn glitchy, yeah. I won't comment on the other two since I haven't played Fallout 3 much or any of New Vegas.

Morrowind was probably the least glitchy but it also had really terrible combat and the different abilities weren't close to balanced.

Oblivion was really dumbed down compared to Morrowind and was in need of more stuff because of it.

Skyrim just takes the cake for being by far the most unpolished and downright unfinished game I've ever played. It needs mods to function.

ITT people that have never touched a mod in their life talking as if they know what they are talking about just to feel superior and special for playing it on the x-box. Get a life.
