Why are mods so popular amongst the PC crowd?

ITT people that have never touched a mod in their life talking as if they know what they are talking about just to feel superior and special for playing it on the x-box. Get a life.

ITP somebody that comes on the 360 board to tell people to get a life for playing on 360. Get a life.

Another reason not to bother with mods is that in the long run they irremediably corrupt your save file.
Have fun crashing each 3 minutes once you hit 100 hour or so.
Yes I know there are ways to minimize the damage mods cause, but they can only do so much.

Seeing as this topic isn't dead.

You don't need 100hours for that to happen

If you guys are referring to save game bloat, it is easily avoidable.

Good mod practice. Simply don't install mods that are verified to be inducers of save bloat, and after you install some new mods, play the game a few seconds and check your save file sizes for any drastic changes.

There are few specific mods that can cause save bloat, although Bethesda's own Dawnguard expansion has been known to cause it.
