Ok real question aimed at Rebel... Did the Dwemer actually have beards? I never have actually come across anything in the lore that says that they did, then again I never found anything that said that they didnt. I thought the only resemblence they had to Tolkien Dwarfs was their subterrainian living situation and the fact that they were good with metal work and machines..

Also a merry xmas to all on this board... and lets hope we have another good year on this board

The Dwemer guy in Morrowind had a beard, and there's nothing in lore that suggest they were somehow unable to grow facial hair >_>

I know it's deviantart style standard, but I was googling Dwemer yesterday and found this nice side by side comparison :D

Yes but just because someone has facial hair doesnt mean that the rest of his culture will. I was just asking if like Tolkien Dwarfs (spelling?), the Dwemer liked to grow their facial hair out (also Gimli even makes a joke about female dwarves having just as long as a beard as most male dwarves , kind of hinting that it is a cultural thing for dwarves to grow their beards)

Don't Dwemer have longer ears, light gray skin, and dark hair?

So no, I don't believe a Dwemer without a beard would look like an Altmer.

Why do people keep posting that pic as proof of what a Dwemer looks like?

The guy in Morrowind has darker skin, I would imagine them to look closer to Dunmer than Altmer.

Altmer facial shape but with the dark skin of the Dunmer and beards, lots of beards.

Because that's a picture of a Dwemer from the game?

I would think they'd be pretty pale what with living underground.

No it isnt, god youre a useless poster.

And arisen, every depiction of the Dwemer i can recall shows them bearded, so it certainly seems to be a cultural standard.
