Yep, pretty sure. It can't be much longer than that, otherwise MoE likely wouldn't be here now.

I think that's how long GameFAQs keeps your personal IP address on file for banning so that it flags new accounts and prevents posting privileges (unless you use sinister, diabolical workarounds). That account is just toast, though.

On a side note: damn, this thread went to Hell quickly. >.>

It is, in the case of horribad trolls like him. However, people also get banned for swearing too much or getting a little too heated during debates and whatnot [Or in rare cases, for no reason at all]. In those cases, a three-month ban is rather fair.

Perhaps it's just to keep mods from abusing their power.

Oh, shush. It's a possibility. Giving them the authority to slap anybody with a perma-ban would make finding trustworthy mods far more tedious. As it is, they can afford to have a few mods that toss out bans for trivial or personal things, simply because it isn't permanent. But if it were permanent, they'd have to be far more strict in their recruitment just to avoid bad publicity from a few untrustworthy mods.

I'm probably reading way too far into it, but it makes sense if you think about it.

Yeah, I guess. But still, you have to admit that the mods here are a bit more [DELETED] than other forums.

Better than the Bethsoft forums.

Freaking secret police over there.

Pfft, of course. I'd never argue against that. My argument actually kinda says exactly that, in a way. They can simply afford to be so, because the consequences aren't quite as permanent.
