Do none Circle members of the Companions know about Lycantrophy?

I mean during the attack on Jorrvaskr, Torvar knew about the Silver Hand saying "they finally found the courage to attack Jorrvaskr"

Surely they knew the SH's purpose as well.

The Circle probably told them that the Silver Hand are Were Wolf hunters as well as Bandits that don't like the Companions.

Oh, and the Silver Hand ARE bandits. I bet if they see a *little* hair coming from your ears, they will chop your head off!

And the other Companions know NOTHING of the Circle being Were Wolves, Kodlak said so. They probably wouldn't trust them with the knowledge, especially the Drunkard who could spill the beans on accident after a pint of mead.....................................

To avoid any possible moral dissonance on the player's part, of course...

"moral dissonance"???!!!

The Silver Hand are bandits that also make a job to kill Were Wolves.

They don't care if their victims are were wolf or not, they will still kill and rob on sight. And not all were wolves are bad.

Well to put it into perspective, Vigil of Stendarr is to Daedra as Silver Hand is to werewolves.

I don't think that's accurate...

Anyway, you can hear some ambient dialogue between the companions that implies that it's a secret outside of the Circle. I think something between Aela and... Ria?

I know. I'm saying that the way they operate was a deliberate decision by Beth, so the player doesn't really have to think a whole lot about the possible implications of the Circle being Lycanthropes.

Me: So, you hunt Daedra?

Vigil: Vampires, Were Wolves, and any other things that are of Daedric decent!

Or something like that.

Dude, that's the point he was trying to make. The implication was that if the silver-hand were bandits then you wouldn't feel bad for killing them. Bethseda was trying to avoid the moral dissonance of being a good and honorable companion but killing a group of people who destroy blood-lusting, super wolves who terrorize innocent citizens by making the opposition scumbags anyway. It avoids that moral dilemma of, oh f***, I'm just killing a bunch of good guys only because they one my precious racist axe.

Except the Companions are hardly "blood-lusting superwolves."

They're not exactly feral madmen.
