I'm not inclined to listen to a guy with "Coon" in his name rant about people who call out racism.
Keep moving, folks. Nothing to see.
When raccoons try to get on our back porch momma just chases them off with a broom.
You sound like a man who understands the shrimping business. COONS?!?!? |
helghastbanePosted 2/5/2013 9:32:40 AM | On a side note about the word coon as sign of racism.True quite often it is, but not always.if you are from Louisiana you may be referred to as a "coonass".This is a reference to cajuns my father spent his whole life in the area and he referred to himself as a "coonass" with great pride. This is very region specific though if you are not from the area this may not apply |
Scorch3000Posted 2/5/2013 10:01:17 AM | I think the same, only replace Stormcloaks with Thalmer. --- [This signature was deleted at the request of the original poster] |

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coonass As a RCA (registered coon ass) I can confirm this also. It started as a derogatory slur, but over the years we've owned it and now wear it as a sign of great pride. Note this isn't a louisiana term as much as it is a south louisiana term. Basically south and east of Lafayette and south and west of New Orleans. I'm from larose, louisiana and I live on bayou lafourche. My grandparents speak/spoke French. |

Why are there so many of these topics, all full of different people but rarely does anyone say anything different then the other 200 posts in the topic saying the same thing? This topic alone is probably going to devolve into Stormcloaks vs Imperials and take up more than 200 posts... I suppose that would defeat the purpose of me asking why those topics are so popular and instead just lead to more of the same arguments being thrown around. I probably shouldn't of thrown out a quote as the topic title. Also my name is a reference to an actual Raccoon and not any racist connotations I made the name at like fourteen and the concept of using Coon like that just wasn't in my mind. Sadly you cannot change your name on Gamefaqs. Doesn't matter, this is the Skyrim board and you are now racist. Also we like to be able to discredit people's arguments without having to go into them, makes it easier. --- The mind is like a parachute: it only works when it's open |
CalistoCoon (Topic Creator) Posted 2/5/2013 11:34:18 AM | But I don't actually think that way about Stormcloaks nor do I think badly of Imperials, they both have pros and cons and no side is wrong. --- GT:Emotional Hobo |
