Can you only build one house at a time with Hearthfire?

I made the one in Falkreath and now I bought the one from Morthal but when I go to build it the building just never appears. And then when I fast traveled back to my first one it was all glitchy and buggy. Is it a problem with my game or are you only allowed one?

You can build all three at the same time. It seems like your game is having issues.
