Building a stage 0 Hybrid this weekend, while you lose both your regeneration and stat reduction weaknesses while the sun, you lose many of the passive benefits of being a vampire such as poison resistance.. So, gentlemen, it's time to polish a turd.. Bosmer or Redguard?
In addition to the above, is there any discernable difference between Command Animal and Animal Alligence? Aside from the whole shout/cooldown aspect.
Errr, what? --- GT: Micktory
If you are a Vampire Lord, and transform while engaging in the Companions' "Blood Ritual" under the Sky Forge with Serana as a follower, and command her to bite you when you appear outside you can become a Werewolf / Vampire Lord Hybrid. If you do not feed on anyone at this point (So it is advisable to complete as many Dawnguard Vampire, if you sided with them, side quests as possible before doing this) you will be a "Stage 0" vampire. As a stage 0 you have no weakness to the sun, no fire weakness, you regen as normal, no stat reduction, and Necromage works normally, however certain vampire perks such as poison resistance, frost resistance, bonuses to illusion and sneak are not applied. I don't recall whether or not you retain Disease resistance, as I've only tested this once. Having said that, I plan on making a new character to follow this route, and to supplement this loss of poison resist I planned on utilizing one of the two races that have natural poison resistance, as well as the snake blood perk from the Alchemy tree, as Necromage Vampires can achieve the Magic Resist cap with any race, and elemental resists are not really a concern. While poison isn't a frequently encountered issue, it is a resistance only achieved by wasting enchantment slots for a more comprehensive reduction in damage. So, thus my decision.. Bosmer or Redguard.

I do not plan on using spell absorption due to the fact that it impedes use of shadow warrior, summons, etc, and is honestly kind of cheesy. I remember fighting Miraak for the first time as an unarmed khajit with 100% absorb on master. it was just silly. Route for resistance would be a combination of alteration perks, lord stone, and agent of mara, so, no enchantment slots would be necessary. The issue I take with the Orc's racial is it is in essence dropping one's difficulty from Master to Adept, which anyone can accomplish for any duration via the options menu, I'd rather just overcome the "rigors" of Master game play head on. Likewise with crafting skills any race can achieve massive offensive damage, and as Brian said in a thread, massive overkill (via berserker) doesn't matter. Not that I intend on crafting weapons with over 100 damage, anyway. I'd consider an Orc if I was going to use bound weapons, however the bound dagger is currently bugged and not silent, and therefore sucks.

So basically you are a werewolf with Necromage? Lame. Unless you can still become a vampire lord --- Song of the Day: Battle for Freedom FFXII http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PjEN-zFlDQ
You can be a vampire lord and werewolf. If you become a werewolf, when you revert to human form, you're not a vampire. you appear "normal" and necromage isn't applied. Select vampire lord and transform, revert form, you have glowing eyes and necromage again. Have your cake. Eat it too.
Just to explain the end result more clearly.. You have access to both werewolf and vampire lord forms. You can use vampire-necromage. You do NOT have fire weakness, stat reduction or regen penelties while in the sun. You LOSE bonuses to sneak (actually reduces sneaking ability), illusion, frost, and poison resist, vampires seduction/servent etc. Feeding (VL drain doesn't count) will make you a stage 1 vampire, and there is no going back to sweet, sweet stage 0.
