So...how bad are the spiders in this game?
THERE IS A MOD THAT TURNS THE SPIDERS TO BEARS
aaaaaaaaaaaand 360 board.... awkward
They're horrifying to me. I think Resident Evil is the only game I've played with worse spiders than this game.
How can something in a videogame made of pixels and polygons, make someone that scared? I mean, I don't like spiders in real life, but this is just a game? They're inside your computer screen.
Like someone else said, use the game to get over your fear. They're more scared of you anyway.
IMO fear of bugs and spiders this games has them looking like tarantula's and they're pretty bad but it never caused my phobia to activate, not to mention you don't HAVE to fight them in this game... ever if you don't want to.
I'm entitled to my opinion, your entitled to your opinion, but im also entitled to dissuade you from your opinion.
A rarity of spiders won't help. In fact, overly common spiders might be better for phobes.
Game may or may not help TC. Making the object an enemy doesn't really change a lot. I reckon conquering a phobe means a kind of acceptance. Not the hippie kind, I mean like conquering hot coals. Like how you still hate and murderously swat a mosquito.
But TC may benefit from seeing the same model 9000 times and walking away victorious. I'm not exaggerating the number a whole lot - I'm pretty sure he'll need 100+ hours for the model/animations to dull, to deaden, be old. It'd probably be better to work with a less realistic game's spiders, more abstract. But then you're playing a game for hours solely for an imperceptible shift in phobia - you'd save time by just staring at a picture for twenty minutes.
Actually, I wonder if that helps, if you pick something unevoking of response...
Ever squish your face on a window? Looks funny. Ever got stuck?
For the main quest there are the ones in Unbound and the Golden Claw. There are more in radiant quests. The main quest does also have a Falmer area, maybe should mention Falmer are evil, de-evolved elves that farm Chorus and use their body parts to make weapons and build little tents from. Chorus seem to resemble giant earwigs.
There are plenty of quests you can do that don't involve frostbite spiders but a lot of questlines involve dungeons that they will be present. Companions for example have a couple of quests that if you want to become Harvinger you will need to go past frostbite spiders.
The spiders are pretty cartoonish in proportion and kind of goofy when you look at them up close.
Don't play Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. That game had realistic looking spiders that could crawl at you from any angle, in dungeons JUST bright enough that you could barely make out the huge silhouette of a spider creeping up on you.
It's okay, I have no idea who I am either.
I'm guessing that the giant frost spiders make the Goliath Bird Eater look like... http://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/records-10000/smallest-spider/
Its been the only reason I haven't played this game. I have severe arachnophobia and, actually purchased and returned the game at one point because I heard how much they seem to be involved in the game. Is it something I can push through? Can they be avoided for the most part if I wanted to? and how realistic are they? Thanks for the help.
My brother ciarajansonfan has a crippling phobia of them, just like you
