Question about buying Lakeview Manor

#1BonggoblinPosted 4/8/2013 2:13:27 AM
This is the last one to buy. On my misc quest it says I have assisted (2/3) in Hjaalmarch and I can't find a last one. There was a guy who wanted a dog, but that turned into a daedra quest. I have invested in the shops there and it still on't give me the last assist I know. Does anybody have any ideas for me?

Have you returned to Lod, the guy looking for the dog? Cause if you do, you get an option to say something like "the dog wasn't worth the trouble" and that should count as an assist.

Yes I did that, and I invested in all the shops I could and I'm still 2/3.

Update: I am now the Thane, but still don't have the option to buy the house.

From the wiki:
After installing Hearthfire, you may purchase this plot of land at the Jarl's Longhouse in Falkreath. If Siddgeir is still the jarl, speak with his steward, Nenya; if the Stormcloaks have control of the hold, speak with Tekla, steward to the new jarl, Dengeir of Stuhn. You will have to complete the quest Kill the Bandit Leader before being allowed to purchase land (Note: if Siddgeir is jarl, this may sometimes require completing his version of Rare Gifts first, and the dialogue option to start this quest will not appear if another version of the quest is active). When you ask the steward if you can buy a house in the hold, you will be told that there are no houses for sale at that time, but a new plot of land is available. It will cost 5,000 gold.

that's all I can come up with, unless you haven't received the letter from the Jarl yet, which may also be required

it should just happen automatically, always does for me, whenever i make a new character, usually by lvl 5. Also, if the jarl doesnt have the option to buy, try his housecarl
