Been playin NV/FO3 lately; nostalgia glasses melted on face/gave 3rd degree burn

OUCH!

Nah, I love those games, really I do, but I have a hard time seeing how they are better than Skyrim now that it's been a while. I don't know, they're still great, but Skyrim does so many things better--gameplay wise--it can be hard to go back.

What do you guys think, now that Skyrim has been around for a bit?

I still play F:NV like it's crack and enjoy the hell out of it.

Do what makes you happy. Because at the end, who's there? You.

I still prefer NV more.

The only thing I miss from Skyrim when playing NV is the sprint button, but since I got it for the PC, that was easily replicated by a mod (Project Nevada).

New Vegas is still utterly awesome. Better plot, actual meaningful choices regarding the plot, more interesting characters, and masterfully weaved DLC with significant tie-ins to each other and the main game. And one thing I sorely miss in Skyrim is time pausing when you're in a conversation. I HATE these real-time chats! Especially since you are frozen during them while no one else (including any nearby enemies) is.

I can still play them fine.

I do miss sprint though. Oddly enough I don't miss it in Oblivion though with 100 Speed and some enchants to bring it over 100 it's faster than sprinting anyways.

I still prefer Skyrim, but New Vegas and Fallout 3 don't feel dated by any stretch of the imagination to me. Well, okay, that's a lie, some of the animations are laughably bad, but the games are still fun. Even Oblivion doesn't feel that dated, although admittedly I use mods to overhaul the level scaling and the leveling system.

I like both...they're in different genres as far as setting goes, so I don't find myself not liking Fallout after playing Skyrim...all dem guns man...so many ammo types...and the Fallout games have better DLC overall when compared to Skyrim.

Man, I LOVE NV, so don't get me wrong, but I have such a hard time seeing why folks put it over every other Beth game this gen. I understand that people like choices with consequences, but I feel like that was all NV had to offer. Everything else (graphics/gameplay/clip rate) is blatantly lower quality. It's simply less detailed and not as smooth, in my humble opinion.

I respect other people's opinions though, so I'm fine with people putting NV at the top of their respective lists, I just have a hard time understanding it (<no, that's not an invitation to "explain it to me" <_<). New Vegas is an absolutely amazing game so, though it's some what baffling, it's not surprising. I love it too. Just not above FO3/Skyrim.
