back in the days of iron daggers i made a character who hit 100 smithing super early

just loaded him today and saw his low lvl (24) has the option to make his smiting legendary

i don't fully understand the benefit

This may be a dumb question but I never really looked into the specs of the legendary setting. Do I have to be playing on legendary to legendary my skills? I don't mind the challenge I'm just a low level (around 15) and find myself running more than fighting.

no you don't have to be on legendary

It just means you can level it up again and gain more character levels resulting in higher attributes and more perk points.

Either allowing you to level higher without grinding skills outside of your build. Useful if you want to fight the Ebony Warrior or encounter Legendary Dragons without being forced to grind skills you don't want to use. Or just obtaining more perks and having higher attributes. Some people like the idea of having every single perk for example or just want more perk points to complete their build.

Legendary Set is just like "Master" set, but it added an optional to reset one of your trees and collect all Perk Points from there by push LB (from what I knew, I am yet to using it). By reset, it will go back to 15 level, which it was normally to be when you first started.

Note: You must have that tree at Level 100 to using it.
