I really tried to enjoy this game, but I could not force myself to finish it. The perk system and a plot that included dragons, nazi elves, and a civil war between ax toting nords and a corrupt empire showed great promise. I also enjoyed the kill cams, which made that final victory in each confrontation seem like a real achievement. Beyond that this game just seems hollow. The plot was executed poorly, the characters are dull, and the stat and class systems that were a staple of the series were completely eliminated. Not only that but, I felt as if the devs were holding my hand and spoon feeding me information in every quest as if I were a slow child. I grew bored with this game very quickly.
This series has become a victim of it's own success. I suppose one of Bethesda's marketing exec's read a report stating that the average gamer doesn't like numbers or big words and decided TES needed a good dumbing down so it would be more marketable. I'm putting this series on the trash heap along with Final Fantasy and Resident Evil. --- What is a man but a miserable little pile of secrets? -Malraux
Woah, I never really thought about it like that, actually. I'm glad you're the first one ever to make this thread and help us see the light. --- The ruling king that sees in another his equivalent rules nothing. - Vivec
Cool story tc. Go back to your Troll cave. http://i.imgur.com/uhhtKJX.gif
I would but, it is currently occupied by the FO4 development team. Also, you may want to think twice about using phrases that appear on T-shirts sold at tourist traps. --- What is a man but a miserable little pile of secrets? -Malraux
I still remember some creative quests in Oblivion like the one where you enter a painting, someones dream, stealing an Elder Scroll, sleeping in an Inn then waking up to find its been hijacked (the boat inn) and more that I can't think of right now.
However I've just accepted the fact that this is all we've got. Its not all bad bud the expectations were high and looking back you realize they could've done a much better job especially with unique weapons, enemies, wildlife and magic combinations. In my opinion that would be so much fun trying to create unique looking special weapons and enemies. A lot of work but still, you could go crazy with it.
Just wish I had it on PC though, the mods are amazing and truly enhance the game more than the original creators did.
