Staff of Paralysis..The most OP staff?

#1hoagie727Posted 12/22/2011 11:23:00 AM
Found this last night and so far I have not come across anything besides dragons that it doesn't completely own.

I had to stop using it because it felt way too cheap.

i finally decided that my assassin would learn magic on the side
upped illusion and alteration to 100
mass paralysis is ridiculous

only downside is that i have to use armor that i make myself to really cast how i want to
which means i can't always use my sexy ebony mail

Before I found the staff I gave my follower a Giant Club.

Hilarity ensued when I would paralyze something and he would just run up and bash it do death with the club.

Game got boring fast though. Felt like god mode.

How'd you get a Giant Club?

Or is it the one that you're supposed to turn into Volendrung?

Giants Club is here.

You can only have your follower pick it up though and they will use it until you dismiss them. You cannot have it in your inventory.

I don't use the staff, but I use Alteration and that spell is my favorite.
However, I play a Mage/Assassin.
No follower.
No Destruction magic.
No Conjuration.
No Weapons
No Armor

I play purely Illusion/Alteration/Sneak. (With a few other perk trees filled, of course)

No matter how strong your spells are, it's not easy to get kills if you're caught. It makes it extremely difficult and fun. You have to get creative to get kills, and sometimes even use the environment to make it happen. Such as using Telekinesis to drop those flaming pots on people.

Getting someone's attention and making them walk into a trap, or making them walk into the dangerous zone and manually triggering the trap yourself so you can get the kill. It's a hard way to play, but it's very rewarding, and often extremely funny.

Like (Spoilers)...

... the Dark Brotherhood quest where you have to kill the woman at her own wedding while she is addressing her guest. There are a few ways to do this. Knife her from the back, drop a statue on her, or do it my way...

I paralyzed her and cast a Fury spell on her new husband. He immediately turned and beat his new wife to death while she was laying on the floor, stiff. It was really funny to see a woman regret her marriage so quickly.

Thank you, sir.
I like picking ways to play that require me to think of fun, innovative ways to do things.
Illusion, Alteration, and Sneak aren't the best ways to get easy kills, so I always have to be a little tricky with getting kills....

That was my favorite moment so far.

I love doing this, so much that I plan on getting Skyrim for my PC and making a montage of this. One thing I did was during the companions' early quests, when you turn into a vampire and take on the silver hand, I faced two enemies. What did I do to get advantage? I backed up and stepped forward onto the pressure plate to have a spiked wall slam both of them against the wall like slamming a fly swatter on an insect.
