yeah, the bookshelves are messed up in general. something in the patch messed them up, maybe to stop the Oghma Infinium glitch, but it makes bookshelves just about useless now. And it seems that armor mannequins and weapon racks still dont work. Great job Bethesda >< --- HEAVEN OR HELL, DUEL 1, LET'S ROCK! PSN: Insidious1987

The bookshelf glitch in the new patch prevents being able to do it. I doubt it was intentional cos it stops any use of the bookshelf if you take a book off even once. --- PSN ID: todd360 Currently Playing: The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception, Batman: Arkham City, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

You can do the glitch with any chest you own after the patch. --- [PSN v1valab8m]

1. Access a crate/barrel/chest with Oghma Infinium in your inventory. 2. Read book for desired stat. 3. Without closing menu, deposit book. 4. Pull out Oghma Infinum. 5. Repeat steps 2-4. 6. ??? 7. Profit!!! --- Hoo Haa!!! I has Signature!!!
I thought this book could be used to make money? Is it seriously only for skills? --- Why? Because **** you is why.

Since bookshelves aren't working anymore, duping books becomes horribly difficult and luck-based (even on PC). You'd need to drop the book, read it from world view, take it quickly, and hope the book doesn't disappear in world view before you can read it a second time and take it again.
It's quite frankly not worth the effort. Being level 81 and getting leveled gold rewards from quests more than equals the loss of thousands of gold per book sale, unless you only wanted to dupe the book for money and not levels... --- Fair does not exist. Fair is a word from a world of happy fantasies.
