Fix for low volume for Realtek Onboard Audio users

There is a fix on the Bethesda forums for Realtek users for those with low volume/quiet dialogue issues. I tried this myself a few minutes ago and can confirm that the dialogue now sounds clear and loud as it should.

Here is the link to the fix:

Basically go to your RealTek audio manger and set the speaker configuration to 5.1 and uncheck all the optional speakers, but leave the full range speaker settings checked.

I did that, and...fortunately, it fixed the problem.

However, a new problem appeared. My microphone ceased to function. I like talking to a few friends on TeamSpeak while playing pretty much anything, so...it's kind of a bad tradeoff.

I don't have Realtek but I decided to go digging around and found similar settings that may apply to everybody else. (Windows 7)

Control Panel
Sound
Playback
Choose the speakers you want to fix
Configure
Set to Surround if not already
Next
Set them to Full-range speakers
Next
Finish

I'm not sure what all this applies to but it worked for me. There may also be more or less depending on your speakers/settings.

Haven't tried this but all I did was put loudness equalization on under enhancements (in Windows 7) and it's been fine.

Why was there ever a need beyond "lower all volumes except dialogues", I wonder. That works nicely enough.
