I've been using a glass bow I've enchanted for quite a while now (I'm level 35). When should I expect the next lot of weapons to begin appearing and is there a way I can get my hands on them faster?

I found an ebony bow in a chest at about 40, and have been starting to fine daedric boots.

Raising your smithing level is the fastest way, and also the best way, since you can pretty much triple the base damage if you go that route.

you are around the level where youll start seeing ebony gear on vendors. fastest way though is to power level smithing and go the heavy armor side for ebony/daedric weapons.

smithing.

i found ebony items before glass, funny enough.

i started getting glass items around 28.

i found ebony items off blood dragons around 21 and from enemies near the same levels.

there's also the console.

I think I'm a bit late to start grinding smithing (I've nearly maxed out archery and sneak, I'm 75% of the way through lockpicking and half way through alchemy).

Yes, as the others have said, crafting your own bow is the fastest way to get a good one without cheating. It's not very hard to max smithing out to 100 before you even leave Riverwood.

I got my ebony bow off of the first Draugr Deathlord I faced, at around level 36-37.

no youre not. just go to whiterun, buy iron ingots/ore from the chick outside warmaidens, the guy inside warmaidens and the smith at the skysteel forge. wait in game for 48 hours. repeat. make iron daggers til you hit 100.

Smithing is really easy to grind if you want to do so, simply buy iron ore/leather from vendors and make tons of gear. That said, you don't need to do this, as you will start seeing ebony soon in shops/chests, and in about 10 levels you'll start seeing daedric.
