Skyrim should have been Morrowind's sequel, not Oblivions.

What I mean by that is, Skyrim should have started with Morrowind and moved forward from there, instead of starting with Oblivion and doing the same.

My reasoning is because everything that made Oblivion better than its predecessors (combat, graphics) would already be ported in as that would be the only things that you'd want to take a leaf out of Oblivion's book on, and with the rest of Morrowind (sans those two things) being the base for the rest of the game, we already see most of Oblivion's issues taken care of. Level scaling would be gone, everything would be handcrafted and unique, and so on and so forth.

And with that base (Oblivions graphical level and combat, Morrowind's everything else) moving forward with it (as in, improving on those things while maintaining their original feel) would create a fairly amazing game. Throw in their excellently done Dragons (those and the soundtrack are the only things I will say they have perfected at this point) and structure the game world in the style that Morrowind's was (actually unique and full of history and intrigue)and you'll have a game of games.

As much as I love Morrowind, this MW love and OB hate is so damn annoying, and it has been for a very long time. Maybe you should WAIT until the god damn game is RELEASED before you say things like "actually unique and full of history and intrigue". Because I'm sure as hell you don't know anything about what content is in.

And fyi, Morrowind had level scaling.

Couldn't be because theres actual reasoning behind it now could it? No, everyone just hates on Oblivion for no reason and dotes on Morrowind for no reason. /sarcasm

I said that in reference to Oblivion, not Skyrim. Reading Comprehension, man, reading comprehension.

And fyi, Morrowind had level scaling.

Except it wasn't broken and actually made sense.

It's still annoying as hell. Furthermore, this is SKYRIM. Go ***** about OB somewhere else. I swear, I'm starting to hate Morrowind just because of its fans.

This whole topic was about you whining on how Skyrim should be like MW. Which again, you have no clue of what is even in Skyrim. Despite that, you act as though this is going to be exactly the same as Oblivion. It might be. It might not. But save your crying for after it's released.

Except it wasn't broken and actually made sense.
"Level scaling would be gone"

Just correcting you on that one. Besides, we've already been told that level scaling has been fixed, and would be similar to Fallout 3.

Skyrim should have been Daggerfall's sequel, rather than a sequel to the sequel of the dumbed down and streamlined Elder Scrolls known as Morrowind.

I still don't get it... too much rant... comprehension minimal...

Are you basically just saying they should have done Morrowind -> Skyrim -> Oblivion rather than Oblivion -> Skyrim? From a gameplay perspective, theoretically they'd be basically the same (only with the new systems and stuff switched around), so I don't see a whole lot of reason in that. The story works better like this anyway; the Oblivion Gates appearing as a part of a prophecy foretelling Alduin's return and the lack of a Dragonborn Emperor are key points to Skyrim's story, both of which are related to the events in Oblivion, requiring it acts as a prequel to Skyrim. Of course, if they actually did make Skyrim first and Oblivion after, they could do something entirely different.

Case-in-point, this is the way they're doing it. No point in complaining about it, as it's a few years too late for that.

Agreed. I can't say I noticed a rant.
