Noclip command?

#1TamericPosted 11/13/2011 3:28:28 AM
I'm stuck half way through this main quest because of a bug. Some guy is in a prison cell sort of but his voice overs aren't working when I talk to him to let me in. After I convince him to let me in, he walks up to the door and the little opening that slides open so we can talk shuts, and I can see the waypoint thing hovering there where he was standing. It still says "press E to open door" but it's unresponsive when I try hitting E.

I tried typing 'tcl' into the console like every other Bethesda game so I can noclip, but it seems they removed noclipping for some reason.

It is case sensitive, has to be entered as TCL

Thanks, that did the trick.

But now the douchebag won't talk to me. I clipped through the door and my quest still tells me to speak to him but when I try to, nothing happens, he just stands there.

That was the first thing I tried. He's an essential character so he can't actually die, he just takes a knee whenever I attack him or use the kill command. I thought there was some command to complete a quest objective but I can't find it. The only thing close to that is the 'caqs' command, which completes EVERY quest in the game.

If Skyrim's quests have been designed in the same fashion as the Morrowind and Oblivion ones, triggering the journal entries for the quest should do the trick. I don't know offhand what the specific questID, stage or command is.

I got it. I aggro'd him and then used the console to make him neutral towards me, and it seemed to do the trick. I was about to flip out if I just wasted like 10 hours of gameplay to get stuck.

Never mind, the problem is a lot bigger than I thought. It's game breaking. Great.

There goes my save file.
