Skyforge Steel Sword and Nordic Hero Greatsword. Those two level up at the shop and forge (respectively) with you and will eventually be more powerful than Deadric.

Wait so if I just keep leveling and buying Skyforge swords in Whiterun, they get more powerful? I have to check this out to be sure.

Hm, level 36 here and I went to check. The Skyforge steel 2hander requires Ebony to upgrade now and does considerable damage but still less than my Daedric GS. Since Ebony is the final material, is this the max damage it can get to (besides upping 2hander skill) or will the sword improve with my base level? Shame they're so bland looking..

I'm pretty sure all armors and weapons increase in power/defense as you level. Not one you already have, of course. But buying, finding, or crafting a piece of gear at level 10 and level 40, there will be a difference in it's armor/attach rating, even if it's the same exact item.

I don't think the ingot really matters at some points. I had a Skyforge GSwords and used steel on two different ones. The one that I bought later was more powerful.

I got my info from this:
http://uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Skyforge_Steel_Greatsword#Skyforge_Steel_Greatsword

And the fact that it seemed to be as powerful as every newer sword in the game.

That list seems a bit off for the Greatswords... All the other types the Daedric and Ebony versions are better than the Skyforge but the greatsword Skyforge is ridiculously more powerful at 36 base compared to the 24 for Daedric.

No all weapons don't 'level up'.
All weapons are coded to have a 'max damage' and essentially your skills are 'limiting' said damage.

Once you hit 100+ for your skill levels, you essentially 'reach' the max damage for that weapon.

Better to find a two handed enchanted greatsword that's unique or powerful because at the moment bland non-enchanted weapons are only great against some enemies...

I'm lv30, with my blades sword (I found a dragonbane in a mainstream quest) that when upgraded to legendary, is about 40 damage. It's one-handed. I have a 55% gauntlet and amulet buffer that boosts that to 60.
So 60 damage per slash... But for some damn reason my 'damage' is extremely weak when used against the same foes I fight... The harder I try to go for the uber powerful one handed weapons, the weaker I seem to be because by 'leveling' a lot, I made enemies A LOT TOUGHER!
