How do I use a Xbox 360 controller with my pc to play Skyrim?

Hey guys I was just wondering how to get a standard wired Xbox 360 controller to work with skyrim.

If anyone can list steps for me to follow would be good.

Thanks in advanced and btw I have Windows 7 64 bit if that makes a difference.

So I don't need to install any drivers or stuff like that?

Just plug it in and enable it in the Game Options. If you find anything iffy with it, just download the "Xbox 360 controller For Windows" driver. What you do is, remove the controller, install the driver and then plug it in. It'll work flawlessly.

Do most people prefer to play this with a controller? Just curious, really.

I know I do. Any game with First Person view needs a controller IN MY HUMBLE OPINION. Im not that good at using mouse and keyboard and it saves time learning all the keys
