help <follower name> 4
setessential <base ID> <1/0>

1 = immortal
<base ID> = the number you'll find from the first command

Have you tried using this console code:

setessential <base ID> 1

where Base ID: Lydia = 000A2C8E (just an example)

It doesn't make them immortal, it just makes them go unconscious rather than die.

wait...you mean they don't do this by default? Every time my follower's health drops to nothing, they drop to the ground and start crawling around and the enemies focus on me. Only time my followers get killed is if I...err...um...kill them inadvertently myself.

^ Yes, but setessential makes it that they can't be killed by you/enemies/aoe/traps/fusrodah from a cliff even when they are recovering.

Setessential sucks because they still run out of HP and fall down.

Open the console, click on the follower, and type modav health 100000 and modav healrate 1000. They will never die, and they will never fall down because of low hp. You would have to have an attack rating of some astronomical number and hit them multiple times in a row for you to accidentally kill them.

So instead of using "God mode" yourself, you make your follower "God Moded"? Does that really that different? Where's the fun in that?
