It's pretty obvious UO isn't feasible in today's market. People are too stupid.

Will ESO bring anything new to the table? Sure. And it has an insane amount of potential.
But it's also very easy to see that it will suffer from the simple fact that it is an MMO, and all the concessions it will have to make for an MMO population.

I hope it's good, I really do.

I don't understand all the commotion over this. Zenimax Online announced a very long time ago that they were working on an MMO. What the hell did you think it would be?

Ultima Online was the last MMO I paid to play. Ever since, if its not free, I'm playing it.

I have been waiting for years for a new generation (3d but with same game mechanic).

I'm not an MMO player so this doesn't really affect me one way or the other EXCEPT if they decide "wow, we're making so much money we would be wasting our time to make a new proper Elder scrolls single player game! Never again!"

I guess if they keep the fallout series going I'll at least have that...

The main reason I'm not an MMO kind of guy is that I don't believe in paying for my games more than once...if it goes F2P I may try it... hell I might even put a little money into it, but I wouldn't want to pay per month because I tend to get bored with games if I play too much of it and I'd hate to see a subscription go to waste just because I was tired of playing the same game over and over.

Ebonheart alliance (Nords, Dunmer, and Argonians). Why? Why does this exist? You take literally the 3 factions that probably hate each other the most and throw them together? What kind of logic is that? Why wouldn't the Nord ally with the Cyrodillic people? Or the Breton? Don't even get me started on the Argonians and the Dunmer's relationship.

Apparently it's because they have to so they can fight against a common enemy.

I am already tired of people thinking there wont be any more single player ES games.. The MMO takes place in the past for a reason people and that reason is so Bethesda can continue to make TES games in the " present " while Zenimax Online takes care of the past.

And as mentioned in the article Bethesda has worked closely with them regarding the lore so we shouldnt start whining just yet.

Terrible news. Sad day for the TES franchise. Much rather had the story and resources invested in another single player sandbox game. I will not play this game.

If it's done right it could actuallly be awesome. I've always wanted to try a co-op Skyrim. An MMO could be good too, it'd just be harder to pull off.

I don't know why people are making such a big deal, V may as well already be what passes for an MMO.

No community or social interaction, check

Pointless quests you cant ignore, check

Fetch/kill quests repeated ad-nausea, check

Obligatory fetch # <insert any mob here>, <insert mobs random body part here> quests, check

No impact on the world in any way shape or form, check

Asinine crafting system that does more harm overall than good, check

Dev's that lie constantly and exaggerate everything beyond measure to the point if they told you water was wet you would have to question it, check

etc

etc

etc

Basically everything that makes MMO's suck is part and parcel of V already.
