Want to play on Laptop, runs like crap? Laptop is better than desktop.

I have played and beat Skyrim on my desktop. I had to do the disable vsync in order for my mouse to play how I wanted it to.

Now on my Laptop the game runs like complete garbage. I have a i7 2670QM, GTX 570m, 16gb of ram

Can someone help me out as to what I can do to get the game to run decent? It should run flawlessly.

thanks

Turn off shadows and disable any texture overhauls (except maybe the official pack or SRO if you have it). Download the Shadow Remover and follow its instructions.

Heck I can run Skyrim on Ultra w/ 20+ FPS on a $500 laptop. You should be murdering this game, make sure all your parts are in high performance mode, running cool. Update drivers and make sure Skyrim is up to date as well.

I have an i7 2670m, gtx 570m and 12gb of ram and I can run the game on ultra at ~40 fps, try using the 295.73 Nvidia driver. I seem to get the best performance with that driver.

Edit: This is also at 1920x1080.

If you have a laptop that can switch between an integrated graphics card and the dedicated one to save power, make sure it's using the proper one when playing skyrim

Change power mode to performance instead of power saving. Or at least make sure that's not the problem, as it typically is on laptops that *should* run something fine but for some reason don't.
