How do I know for sure if Dawnguard is successfully installed? I purchased it from Steam and DL'd it but I'm not sure how to tell if it's been applied to my game successfully.

Well, it should show up in your data tab in the launcher. If it is there and checked then it is installed. If you start the game up and you encounter the courier that starts the mission, you know it is installed correctly.

If your character is level 10 or higher, go into any town and talk to the guards. They should start talking about Dawnguard very quickly.

Well, I'm only Level 4 atm, so I guess I can't really tell for sure yet?

The fastest way to tell is probably to check at a forge and see if you can forge arrows by packs of 24. If you can, Dawnguard is installed.

don't you have new werewolf and vampire skill trees under well, skills?
If the next one is called, because of his MO, the underwear bomber, you'll know I'm on to something. Calvin Trillin June 16, 2006.

Ok, yeah I can forge 24 arrows. I didn't know that was a Dawnguard thing. I've never been through the whole game. I'm going through it now recording my playthrough so I wanna make sure I know what's going on.

Upon further inspection, I don't see any Werefwolf or Vampire skill trees. Do I only get those when I am either a werewolf or vampire?

You only get to see those while transformed. They're not on the same screen as the other skill trees.
